Room-based clinical intelligence

Documentation that happens in the room, not after it.

SAMIO is a room-based clinical intelligence platform that recognizes when a clinician enters the room, captures the encounter within the organization’s approved workflow, and prepares physician or nursing documentation for review.

No phone to carry. No application to open. No repeated start-and-stop process.

The documentation problem

RTLS + Ambient Documentation + Workflow Automation

SAMIO combines a real-time location system (RTLS) with ambient clinical intelligence to create a room-aware documentation platform.

The system detects the presence and location of healthcare personnel wearing a SAMIO badge and uses that information to automatically identify the active clinical room and associate the encounter with the appropriate workflow. Once the clinician enters the defined room zone, SAMIO can initiate documentation and other configured actions without requiring manual application launches, patient selection, or recording controls.

By connecting physical location with clinical context, SAMIO transforms the exam room into an intelligent environment that responds automatically to the care team.
How SAMIO works

From room entry to review-ready documentation.

01
Step 1 — Recognize

The clinician wears a small SAMIO badge on the existing badge clip. When the clinician enters an equipped room, the room device recognizes the clinician’s physical presence.

02
Step 2 — Associate

SAMIO connects the room, clinician, patient schedule, and encounter context so the interaction can be associated with the appropriate workflow.

03
Step 3 — Capture and organize

Within the organization’s approved consent and capture policy, SAMIO securely processes the clinical conversation and organizes relevant information.

04
Step 4 — Review and approve

SAMIO prepares physician or nursing documentation for the clinician to review, edit, and approve. The clinician remains responsible for the final note.

The main workflow change is simple: wear the SAMIO badge on the badge clip already used every day.
Three core solutions

One platform. Three layers of clinical support.

Transcription

Hands-free documentation for the whole care team

SAMIO captures the encounter in the room and prepares structured physician or nursing documentation for review. It is designed to reduce repetitive data entry and after-hours charting while keeping the clinician in control of the final record.

Translation

Care across the languages patients actually speak

SAMIO is being designed to support multilingual encounters, including conversation across languages, generation of an English clinical note from a non-English encounter, and patient-facing instructions in the patient’s preferred language.

Advanced Analytics

Operational insight built from the clinical environment

SAMIO can help organizations understand room utilization, time in room, encounter flow, documentation status, and other operational patterns while applying clear access controls and disclosed organizational policies.

Why SAMIO Is Different

More than an AI scribe

Traditional AI scribes are usually application-based. They rely on the clinician to open a phone, tablet, or computer; select the correct patient; begin recording; stop the recording; and manage the generated note.

SAMIO is designed as clinical infrastructure.
01
The intelligence lives in the room.
02
The clinician is recognized through a small electronic badge.
03
Activation can occur without opening a separate application.
04
The same room infrastructure can support physicians and nurses.
05
Documentation, translation, workflow intelligence, and room analytics can operate through one platform.
06
The system is designed to be transparent about when it is and is not active.
SAMIO makes the clinical room aware enough to support the care team without creating another task for the care team.
Care in any language

Better communication should not depend on a shared first language.

Patients are more likely to understand, participate in, and follow a plan of care when information is communicated clearly in the language they use every day.

SAMIO’s multilingual platform is being developed to support:

  • Real-time communication across languages during the encounter
  • Capture of a multilingual encounter into an English clinical note
  • After-visit instructions and patient education in the patient’s preferred language

SAMIO should be presented as supporting an organization’s language-access program. Qualified interpreters and human review remain important when required by policy, clinical circumstances, or law.

Privacy & trust at a glance

Designed to be visible, governed, and clinician-controlled.

Trust cannot be added after deployment. SAMIO is designed around clear organizational policies that define when the system is active, who may access encounter information, how long information is retained, and how patients and clinicians are informed.
